The Valle Crucis 7 Miler, “The Cub,” is a run/walk in the beautiful community of Valle Crucis, North Carolina. The race begins at Valle Crucis Elementary School at the intersection of NC Highway 194 and Broadstone Road. The first couple of miles are rolling on 194, followed by a right turn on Baird’s Creek Road. The course continues on Baird’s Creek for about 3 miles where it takes a right on Dewitt Barnett Road, up to the Danner Cemetery where the downhill begins. After crossing the low water bridge over the Watauga River the course turns right onto Broadstone Road to the finish at the elementary school. The entire course is run on paved county-maintained mountain roads and is incredibly scenic.

The VC7M is sponsored by the High Country Soccer Association and Boone Rotary. All proceeds from the race go to benefit the HCSA “Field of Dreams” project to provide the youth in our region a firstclass soccer facility and to support on-going projects of Boone Rotary.
